An offhand joke made when skype has hiccups, and constantly declares that somebody is typing. After a suitable amount of time, it has become commonplace to ask if the novel they were apparently drafting in the message box is going well.
Occasionally backfires when people are, in fact, writing a long post. Usually not, though.
